Angela Sweeting
Executive Principal

I have a 19 year old daughter who is studying make-up. I am a big Oldham
Athletic fan (someone has to be!) and like watching most sports.
I love shopping and eating chocolate!

Associate Principal

I have 2 young children. We like going on walks as a family with our dog Lexxie.
I love the colour green and my favourite animal is a giraffe.

I have been at Aspinal for many years and love this community. I have an 18 year
old son who is about to start university. I spend my free time with friends, doing yoga
and travelling when I can.

I have worked for many years in schools, hospitals and various settings with great memories. 
I am happy spending time in my garden, donating to various retail outlets and eating out! 
I enjoy spending time with family and friends and hope to win the lottery soon!

Rachel Hughes
Year 6 Teacher
English Lead, KS2 Phase Leader

I have a huge passion for writing and music: I can play the violin, clarinet and piano.
When I’m not teaching, I love nothing more than shopping and have a huge collection
of clothes and shoes! I also love spending time relaxing watching films: my favourite
at the moment is The Hunger Games series. My alarm clock is my black cat called Misty,
who wakes me up by walking across my head!

I joined the school in September 1999.  I am NNEB trained and I am the Art Co-ordinator.

Year 4 Class Teacher

I love sport and I play netball. One of my favourite things to go to restaurants from different
cultures and try new foods. My favourite animal is a dog.

Natalie Clayton
Year 3 Class Teacher

I have a 9 year old son and we enjoy spending family time together. I have spent most of my life
performing on a stage singing and dancing. I love being able to share this hobby with the children
in school and seeing the smiles on the audiences face when they see their children performing. 

Cherie Cairns
Year 2 Teacher, Science and Behaviour Lead

I have a 7 year old boy and a 6 year old girl who keep me busy and have also made me a master of
Lego – there isn’t anything I can’t build! I love swimming and watching detective programmes.
I want to be Sherlock Holmes when I grow up.

Alison McDonald
Year 1 Class Teacher (Thursday & Friday)

I love spending time with my family. I have a 3 year old son and a 21 month old  daughter who keep me
on my toes. I have a real sweet tooth and eat far too much chocolate! I love travelling and lived and
taught in Atlanta early on in my teaching career.

I have worked at OA Aspinal since 2013.  Before this I worked at a high school in Tameside. 
I enjoy all types of music.  I can make a chicken out of a tea towel. My favourite animal is a sheep.

I have been coming to Aspinal since 1972 when I was a pupil  here.
When I started working here in September 2000 I worked in the classroom but I love working in the office.

going on holidays abroad
