Nursery

Reception

Miss Bailey

Welcome to the Reception Class

Miss Bailey will be your class teacher this year and our class teaching assistants will be : Mrs Currie (am), Mrs O’Brien (pm) Mrs O’Brien will also be our Lunchtime Organiser this year. My Planning, Preparation and Assessment time (PPA) will be each Tuesday afternoon and during this time Miss Hardy will be teaching the class.

  • Please ensure that your child continues to have black pumps for indoor use/ wellies for outdoor use.
  • Water bottles- children should bring fresh drinking water in their own bottle each day.
  • Spare clothes- This year we will begin our P.E. programme, each child is required to wear ‘full kit’- white t-shirt / black shorts- we will use the kit for the children’s ‘spare clothes’ (in case of accidents) Please just add spare underwear and these can be kept in a drawstring bag on the childs coat peg ( please note- we do not have room for backpacks – drawstring bags only- thank you)
  • Reading Books- Each child will bring home a reading book/ key words – please ensure that children read regularly at home each night and then brought back into school every day so that the children can read with an adult in school.
  • Children in Nursery / Reception must be brought into the classroom each morning by a responsible adult- the children will be dismissed each evening at the playground door.
  • Copies of letters, individual reading days, P.E days, timetables, weekly menus will continue to be on the parent notice board ( cloakroom area)

Year 1

Welcome to Year 1

Mrs McDonald

Teachers: Mrs Cragg (Mon - Wed) and Mrs McDonald (Thurs - Fri)

Teaching Assistant: Mrs K. Robinson

Mrs Cragg’s Planning, Preparation and Assessment time is on a Wednesday afternoon and during this time Miss Hardy & Mrs Robinson will be teaching the class. Please make sure PE kits are in school every week.   Homework will be sent out every Friday, and children should bring this back the following Wednesday so that it can be marked and prepared for the following week. 

Children in Year 1 are asked to practise their spelling and to read their reading books to an adult on a daily basis.  It is important that parents remember to record this in their child’s Reading Record book so that teachers can monitor and support pupils effectively.

Year 2

Miss Cairns

Teacher: Miss Cairns

Teaching Assistant: Miss Morrison

I am really excited to be your teacher this year, Miss Morrison is the teaching assistant working in our class.  My Planning, Preparation and Assessment time is on a Monday afternoon and during this time Miss Hardy and Miss Morrison will be teaching the class. Please make sure PE kits are in school every week.  In order to get the best possible chance for them, the children are asked to learn their times tables and to read their reading books on a daily basis.  Children will also have spelling tests and multiplication tests on a weekly basis. 

We look forward to meeting you all and working along with you and your child to give them the best possible opportunities and make their school experience the most enjoyable it can be!

Year 3

Welcome to Year 3 

Miss Clayton

Teacher: Miss Clayton

Learning Assistant: Mrs Robinson

I am your teacher Miss Clayton and Mrs Robinson is your learning assistant. My Planning, Preparation and Assessment (PPA) time is on a Tuesday afternoon and during this time Mrs O’Reilly will be teaching the class.  Full PE kits need to be in school every Monday and will be sent home at the end of each half term to be washed.  Our PE slots are Wednesday and Thursday. Even though we have a designated PE slot, it is important that their kit is in school for the full week, as we may do extra dance or gym linked to our topics. Home learning will be sent out on Friday, be complete and returned on a Wednesday.  Please speak to me if you feel like your child needs some help with their home learning.

Year 4

Welcome to Year 4 

Miss Dale

Teacher: Miss Dale

Teaching Assistant: Mrs Ridland

I am your teacher Miss Dale and Mrs Ridland is the teaching assistant working in our class this year. My Planning, Preparation and Assessment (PPA) time is on a Thursday afternoon and during this time Mrs O’Reilly will be teaching the class. My Newly Qualified Teacher (NQT) time is on Monday morning and again Mrs O’Reilly will be teaching the class during this time. Full PE kits need to be in school and will be sent home at the end of each half term.  Our PE slot is Thursday morning; however, it is important to have their kit throughout the whole week, as we may do extra dance or gym linked to our topics. Additionally, swimming kits need to be in school every Tuesday, children without a full kit will not be allowed in the pool. Swimming kits will be taken home Tuesday to be washed. Home Learning will be sent out on a Friday to be returned the following Wednesday. It will alternate between Mathematics and English. All Home Learning will be based on something we have done in classroom learning.  Children are asked to learn their timetables and to read their reading books daily.  Children will also have spelling tests and multiplication tests on a weekly basis.

I am your teacher Mrs Malik and Miss Myatt is the teaching assistant working in our class this year. My Planning, Preparation and Assessment (PPA) time is on a Tuesday morning and during this time Miss Myatt and Miss O’Reilly will be teaching the class. My SENDCO time is on Wednesday and again Miss Myatt and Miss O’Reilly will be teaching the class. Full PE kits need to be in school every Monday and will be sent home on Friday to be washed. Our PE slots are on Monday afternoon and Thursday morning, so please make sure PE kits are in school every week. Even though we have a designated PE slots it is important that their kit be in school for the full week, as we may do extra dance or gym linked to our topics.  Home Learning will be sent out on a Friday to be returned on a Wednesday. Year 6

Welcome to Year 6 

Miss Hughes

Teacher: Miss Hughes

Teaching Assistant: Mrs Reding

I am your teacher Miss Hughes, and Mrs Reding is the teaching assistant working in our class this year. My Planning, Preparation and Assessment (PPA) time is on a Monday afternoon and during this time Mrs O’Reilly will be teaching the class Spanish and RE.  Full PE kits need to be in school every Monday and will be sent home on Friday to be washed.  Our PE slot is Wednesday mornings, so please make sure PE kits are in school every week. Even though we have a designated PE slot, it is important that their kit be in school for the full week, as we may do extra dance or gym linked to our topics.  Home Learning will be sent out on a Friday to be returned on a Wednesday. Homework in Year 6 will increase over the year, in preparation for Secondary School. All Home Learning will be based on something we have done in classroom learning and some may require internet access- if this is an issue there will be a homework drop in on Tuesdays from 3.15pm where parents are more than welcome to attend with their child. Spellings, multiplication tables and reading is expected as standard each week and home learning is in addition to this.
